A satirical comedy of sexual disorentation, But Im a Cheerleader chronicles the life of Megan (Natasha Lyonne) a typical teenager comin of age in anything but a typical fashion. Megans normal suburban existence is filled with friends and rah-rah enthusiasm until her straight-laced parents (Mink Stole, bud Cort) suspect that she may beshowing lesbian tendencies. In a panic, Megans parents elict the guidance of the homosexual rehabilitation facility, True Directions, to mount an intervention. Megan does not believe she is a lesbian, until she meets Graham (Clea DuVall), a sexy tomboy who has also been sent to the camp. In a charming twist of romantic fate, Megan realizes she may have found her true direction in the most unlikely of places.
