The year was 1964. Jimmy Cooper is about to go over the edge. The Italian scooter, the bespoke suit, and other Mod trappings make for a subversive bit of rebellion against his working class British surroundings. Jimmy takes flight with his mates, his pills, and his idol, Ace Face. But it's a flight to nowhere, culminating in one of the headline-making clashes between the Mods and their mortal enemies, the motorcycle-cruising, leather-clad Rockers. Among the most definitive youth cult films, this human drama was adapted from and features the music of The Who's seminal Quadrophenia album--it bursts with all the tragic frustration and irrepressible euphoria of youth on the verge of adulthood.
