Witness the events around the prison experience of Harris, a young man serving a short sentence in a Georgia State facility. Through unforeseen events, he winds up in a chain gang, attached to a convicted killed. The killer initiates a daring escape, dragging Harris along with him. They wind up at the apartment of Harris' girlfriend, Ann. As they set out on a journey to elude authorities, they encounter many obstacles, including a farmhouse inhabited by a deranged farmer and his wife. Will they ever attain freedom? Will the farmer's wife escape her dreary life? With each attempt as losing the police, Harris and Weed find themselves facing increasing danger, culminating in a resolution of unparalleled proportions.
