Cary Grant as an angel, David Niven in his first starring role as the Bishop and the beautiful Loretta Young in the title role, what could be more of a Godsend?Bishop Henry Brougham (Niven) is too busy trying to raise money from his wealthy congregation to notice his family life is falling apart. When it is almost too late, henry prays for help and the angel Dudley (Grant) appears. At first, the Bishop resists Dudleys claim as one from above but then is won over hy his angelic charm. Together, they solve the parishs financial problems only to wreak havoc on everyones life. The water gets really deep when the Bishops wife (Young) falls in love with Dudley and Henry goes into a jealous fit. Taking this a sign of henrys true love for his wife, Dudley realizes his work is done. .......
