Heres a couple of guys that fans of classic horror and science fiction will be very familiar with the two movies. The Indestructible man stars Lon Chaney Jr. as Butcher Benton, a notorious criminal brought back from the grave Frankenstein-style. Benton uses his new lease on life to get revenge on those who sent him to the chair. Director Jack Pollexfen uses L.A. locationsand Dragnet style narration to get effect. Pollexfen is best known as a writer of pictures like Man From Planet X and Daughter Of Dr. Jekyll for director Edgar Ulmer. Speaking of Ulmer, The Amazing Transparent Man would be one of his last films. His ability to make a decent film on a nonexistent budget was testet on everything from film noir to yiddish-language pictures.Here a scientist tries his new invisibility formula on a safecracker who naturaly sees the criminal benefits of the discovery. As usual, Ulmer keeps things moving along at a good clip
