Writer/director/star 'Beat' Takeshi mixes deadpan comedy and extreme violence to typically audacious effect in this stunning movie. When Masaki, a gas station attendant and bit part baseball player incurs the wrath of the local Yakuza, he heads to Okinawa to buy a gun so he can stand up for himself. Whilst there, he is joined in his quest by a former gangster (Takeshi), who has his own reason for getting back at the mob. Violence escalates until the mild-tempered Masaki takes an oil truck from his gas station and drives it straight into Yakuza headquarters.
