Covertext Violent Cop
Best described as Dirty Harry meets The Searchers, VIOLENT COP stars Beat Takeshi Kitano as detective Azuma, an unconventional cop who uses violence in his pursuit of justice. While investigating a series of drug-related crimes, Azuma is led to Iwake, a colleague on the force. When someone murders Iwake and the police try to cover it up, Azuma becomes enraged. Moreover, his beloved, emotionally disturbed sister has been kidnapped by the very same drug dealers. Azuma sets out, his violent frenzy unleashed, to track down the gang, avenge Iwake and rescue his sister.

Boiling Point
When Masaki, a gas station attendant and local baseball player incurs the wrath of the local yakuza, the notorious Japanese criminal organization, he heads to Okinawa to buy a gun so he can stand up for himself. While there, he is joined in his quest for revenge by a former gangster, who seemingly has his own reasons for revenge. Violence escalated until the mild-mannered Masaki taks an oil truck from his gas station and drives it straight into yakuza headquarters.

Sonatine
Beat' Takeshi Japan's most popular and charismatic star plays the lead role in this very original take of the last days of a tough Tokyo gangster. Takeshi is Murakawa, an established and ruthless Yakuza, sent outside his usual turf to intervene in a gang war on the tropical island of Okinawa. Things go badly wrong and he and his gang get caught in the crossfire. Forced to retreat to a seaside hideaway, they kill time and fool around on the beach, but then their enemies start picking them off one by one. Murakawa decides to go on the offensive for a final and breathtaking showdown. Contrasting deeply lyrical scenes with shocking bursts of violence, laughter with gunfire, Sonatine shows why Takeshi is one of the most exciting film-makers to surface since the 1990s.
