Winning the Swiss Academy Award for Best Actress, Bettina Stucky stars in MEIER MARILYN, a dramatic comedy about finding oneself regardless of one's stage in life. Marilyn is a hairdresser whose life has rapidly spun out of control: her salon is in financial difficulty, she has begun to gain weight again, and her boyfriend is a married man with no intentions of leaving his wife. The only thing keeping her sane is her passion and talent for singing, but even this aspect of her life is unappreciated by everyone except her friend Halil, a Turkish waiter. He encourages her to take part in a television talent show, which becomes Marilyn's last chance to put her life back on track. But succeeding will require her to regain the self-confidence that she has been slowly losing.
