Finally available in America, Spanish director De La Iglesia's (HIDDEN PLEASURES) 1971 film is a shocking study of human cruelty and man's capacity for violence during the last years of Franco's fascist dictatorship. Slaughterhouse worker Marcos (Parra) acquires a taste for blood after he accidentally kills a man during an altercation.
