During the chaotic 17th century in Korea, whose principe ways have become threatened by an impending Japanese invasion, a band of elite soldiers is created to defend the country and it's traditions. Two of these soldiers, Choi and Yun, are brought together on the battlefield, but when Yun turns on Choim Choi disappears. Yun's search for Choi turns up Shi-Yeong, a master swordsman who has gone rogue, and is Choi lover. Yun uses the now captured Shi-Yeong to flush out Choi. His plan eventually works, and as Choi comes out of hiding, Yun prepares a battle that only one of them will live to walk away from.
