This classic adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Broadway musical has long been a family favorite -- and one of the most popular films of all time. Based on the true experiences of the Von Trapp family, the film stars Andrews as Maria, an Austrian novice who becomes governess to seven children during the onset of WWII. A sentimental concoction of schmaltz and over-kill which still manages to work in spite of it all. The R&H score includes "Do Re Mi" and "Climb Every Mountain." Winner of four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
