Twenty-six years ago, Sam Winchester (series star Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (series star Jensen Ackles) lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. Subsequently, their father raised them to be soldiers. He taught them about the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America ... and he taught them how to kill it. Now, the Winchester brothers crisscross the lonely and mysterious back roads of the country in their '67 Chevy Impala hunting down every evil supernatural force they encounter along the way.
Picking up where last season's finale left off, Dean and Sam watch as the Devil (guest star Mark Pellegrino -- Lost) emerges from Hell. In the fifth season premiere, the Winchester brothers and Bobby (series star Jim Beaver) must deal with the aftermath of Lucifer rising and the stunning news from Chuck the Prophet (guest star Rob Benedict) that Castiel (series star Misha Collins) was blown to bits by the archangels.
