Having grown up despising everything British, a young Bridie Quilty leaves her hometown hoping to join the IRA, but naively gets caught up with a Nazi spy. Trevor Howard co-stars as the British officer that falls in love with Bridie, eventually helping her to escape authorities in a surprisingly uproarious final act. "I See a Dark Stranger" was a huge success in the States and overseas, earning Kerr an award from the New York Film Critics Circle and a career-making contract from MGM.
