Katie Armstrong, is an American student studying Criminal Psychology in Germany. She has selected as the subject for her thesis paper, the true story of Oliver Hartwin, a cannibal killer who advertised on the internet for a lover willing to be murdered and devoured as the ultimate act of love and self-sacrifice.
While researching Oliver, Katie becomes obsessed with his perverse life, and begins to delve deeper and deeper into his past, trying to discover what made him become what he is today. She is caught in a downward spiral into a deeply alienated lifestyle, culminating in the discovery of the video-tape made by Oliver recording the final moments of his victim's life.
