A group of thieves come to town-robbing and killing everyone in sight. Tian Lung, an expert of Shaolin, played by Jet Li, saves seven young boys from the massacre and teaches them Shaolin Kung-Fu.
Living next to Lung's family is the Chief of the village. He has eight daughters and is eager for the birth of a son to carry on his name. Just as the Chief's son is born thieves come in the dead of night and kidnap him.
