Under Swiss law, every citizen of that country can be appointed guardian to a child and must, if so named, assume that responsibility. In certain cases, therefore, luck can play its part in the selection process. When Jean-Pierre learns that he will henceforth be responsible for a recalcitrant teenager, disaster looms. To the eyes of the world (and the justice system) he is a brilliant university professor, happily married and a part-time author.
The truth, however, is that for years he has been spinning out love's sweet dream with Armando, his masseur! Coming out is definitely not an option. So Jean-Pierre tries by all possible means to discourage the judge, with the unfortunate result of triggering an investigation into his suitability. There is only one solution to avoid losing face: to get back in touch with Alice, his wife, or rather the friend he once married as a favour.
But when the teenager, entrusted to his guardianship, takes the initiative and moves in with him, his life goes into meltdown! Faced with a hysterical Armando, a depressive Alice and a rather charming kid, Jean-Pierre attempts - with great difficulty - to salvage something from the maelstrom of misunderstandings that wreak havoc with his private life.
