This adaptation of the best-selling comic was the summer of 1998's box-office champion in Hong Kong and is quite the special effects extravaganza.
The Mud Buddha prophecizes that The Conqueror (Sonny Chiba) will dominate the pugilistic circle if he takes in two children, (Ekin Cheng and Aaron Kwok) as disciples. The power hungry Conqueror brings about the deaths of their families in order to fulfill the prophecy. Over the next ten years, The Conqueror rules the circle with an iron-fist. However, when he learns from The Mud Buddha that his two disciples will eventually bring about his downfall, he decides to alter his destiny and plots their destruction.
