After spending 30 years in Brazil, Mountain Leopard (Eric Tsang) returns to Hong Kong with some ammo and a flight bag filled with cash. On his way to the hotel, he runs into a gangster named Smokey (Nicholas Tse), who is in the process of chopping off the hand of a thug who has groped a prostitute. Mountain Leopard is impressed by this, and offers the impressive young ruffian a job as a hitman to help him settle an old score.
We learn that way back in the late-60s, Mountain Leopard had a bitter rival: Nine Dragons. The two had it in for each other, resulting in Mountain’s exile from Hong Kong. As soon as he was sent away, Nine Dragons stole his woman and that has been eating away at him ever since. Moved by the legendary tale, Smokey agrees to help take down the nefarious Nine Dragons. As he sets out to find out more about his new adversary, he discovers some tragic but painful truths about what is really troubling the tragic Mountain Lion.
