Kurzbeschrieb LZ
|

Covertext

Voted the best film of all time by nearly every film critic and the #1 film on the American Film Institute's 100 Years, 100 Movies, Orson Welles' Citizen Kane charts the rise and fall of a newspaper publisher whose wealth and power ultimately isolates him in his castle-like refuge, climaxing in the man's mysterious final word, Rosebud. The film's protagonist, Charles Foster Kane, was a fictionalized version of William Randolph Hearst and enraged Hearst so much that he tried to have the film stopped. Every aspect of the production marked an advance in film language: the deep focus and deeply-shadowed cinematography; the discontinuous narrative, relying heavily on flashbacks and newsreel footage; the innovative use of sound and score. Every moment of the film, every shot, was choreographed to perfection.
